"God's voice thunders in marvelous ways; he does great things beyond our understanding. He says to the snow, 'Fall on the earth'... "Job 37: 5-6a

I heard from a friend of mine in central Michigan today.  It is -33 degrees again today.  She has a wonderful sense of humor about the whole thing.  She said that -33 isn't all that bad compared to International Falls where it was -46 not including the wind chill factor.  Pat shared some fun and interesting tricks to do on such cold days.  First, you can throw boiling water into the air and watch it instantly become a cloud, not one drop of water will ever hit the ground.  Second, you can freeze a banana in the cold for a few hours and then use it to drive a nail into a 2 inch board.  Third, and this is my favorite one, you can blow soap bubbles into the air watch them freeze and land on concrete without bursting.  I guess our weather isn't so bad after all.   Keep smiling, spring is coming...

January 10, 2011 Snow Day at The Heiskell School

It is Sunday night and phone calls have gone out letting everyone know that there will be no school tomorrow morning.  It is snowing at 2 inches per hour and everywhere I look it is white.  Here are a few pictures of the first 15 minutes of snow at "Miss Judy's" house.  Have a wonderful time sledding and having snowball fights.  It would be fun playing together on the playground.   I love you boys and girls...see you soon!
